Cocktail Competition
02 September, 2011

Last night I watched a bartender use a fire extinguisher to make ice cream. I didn’t expect that. I also didn’t expect there to be hand crafted ice sculptures and alcohol filled doughnuts but this is what happened when the Mixology Group rented out our Palm Court Restaurant for the “Mix Off” Finals.

I did, however, expect a lot of alcohol and of course, there was a lot of alcohol. A lot! There were “Grand Marnier” liquors, “Stoli Applik” vodkas, “Monkey Shoulder” whiskeys and Mojitos galore as four bartenders created their unique cocktails in their own corner of the restaurant.

Whilst Mark Stokes perhaps drew in the biggest crowd of the night by bizarrely creating a rum and raisin ice cream with a fire extinguisher, Dan Warren won the event with his whiskey cocktail served in a subtle and stylish set up. So, congrats Dan!

You can check out our photos or, if you were there, let me know what you thought of the event on our Facebook page.

We host lots of interesting events on Brighton Pier so if you fancy a unique setting for you or your organisation’s events then just call reception on 01273 609361 and Sarah Jayne has told me that she’ll happily help!

I’m heading to the forecourt now where Juice FM will be giving away FREE RIDES VOUCHERS from 11-2 today whilst they broadcast live in the sunshine. See you there!
